Sardinia by bike in February
You say Sardinia and you cannot fail to mention the inimitable sea of Baunei, suggestive colors reachable by sea or through splendid roads, but let’s go in order 🙂
We wake up early, a hearty breakfast awaits us, now essential to be able to cover these distances every day, final preparations and we jump in the saddle. The air is crisp but the sun is already heating up the day. Today we will cross some of the roads traveled in the Giro della Sardegna 2017 and 2018, including the Genna Silana pass on the famous ss125, climb traveled by the Giro d’Italia in 2017.
The blue sky suggests a perfect day, so we head towards Desulo, a historic center known for its Cortes Apertas and the exquisite local products. Then we meet Orgosolo with its murals, the whole area is rich in vines of various grapes, among these those used for the Nepente di Oliena stand out.
We continue towards Dorgali, face the climb and head towards Baunei, an always welcoming and enchanted town. Time to arrange the bags and we relax for a well-deserved rest.
